Do I need any special tools to use this?
No. A Google account is all you need to access and use the template in Google Sheets.

Can this be used in Excel?
I wouldn't recommend it.  The template can technically be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet, but it was designed specifically for Google Sheets. Some formulas and automated elements may not function correctly or display the same way in Excel.

For full functionality and the best experience, it’s recommended to use the template directly in Google Sheets.

Is this suitable for beginners?

Yes. The workflow system is designed to be straightforward and easy to follow, even if you are setting up podcast production systems for the first time.
